There was once a little orphan girl named Sunny. It was
around Christmas and she never had one single Christmas, even in the orphanage.
The mean, nasty, and selfish orphanage teacher always made the children clean
up after herself. Even after the hard work they do she never plans 1 single
Christmas. It is truly sad, but this year was going to be different!
Sunny and her friends were
going to plan Christmas at the orphanage (at least they would try to), but it
was going to be hard. First off all of them had to get the nasty Prunella
(that’s the teacher’s name) to go out while they have the Christmas miracle
(the Christmas miracle is Christmas)! Next, Sunny needed to get a tree for
decoration and some lights and maybe some garland (and tinsel). Then, they
needed a location because what if Prunella comes back early to the orphanage
there and we’re having Christmas? Sunny thought, Prunella would be mad. Well
it’s time to get this Christmas miracle rolling. Sunny may be only 9, but she
is powerful, responsible, and can turn anything into fun.
It was time for their plan. In
the orphanage were lots of hidden decorations. It was also time for them to set
Prunella up on her outing to the culture festival with no one but the
maintenance man in a disguise (other wise she would recognize him). That was
the only person in disguise. When they asked him he said he would do anything
that involved tricking Prunella because she was always bossing him around and
never said anything nice about his good work that he did. So, Prunella and the
maintenance man rode off in his car (Prunella was unaware that the guy was the
maintenance man, which was good). Sunny and the children were talking when the
look out for Prunella said she left. The orphanage erupted into tiny screams of
excitement. Sunny had to say they may be in an orphanage, but everyone did at
least have a little excitement in them. One little boy even cheered, my first
Christmas. I can’t believe it! Sunny couldn’t imagine they were having
Christmas either, but she thought you always have to believe!
Now it was finally time to…decorate! Everyone wanted to
help out, even the big kids. After all it was their very first Christmas. Sunny
put up the tinsel (she loved putting up the tinsel), Sunny’s friend Paul and
the big children were helping carry a huge evergreen tree in the orphanage (the tree was fake), and one 8-year-old named
Lisa was helping some of the little kids put the garland plus the lights on the
fake tree. Sunny’s work paid off. It seemed that everyone in the orphanage was
happy to help decorating, but no one knew what was going to happen next (not
even Sunny).
All of the children had just
finished working. They worked harder today then they had even with Prunella
bossing them around, but they enjoyed working today. Then the children got a
call from the maintenance man who still was dressed in the disguise. He said in
a nervous tone, he couldn’t keep Prunella occupied she’s coming back to the
orphanage. She’ll be there in about half an hour. He just wanted to warn you
about that, bye. What are we going to do? a six-year-old yelled. Sunny had told
them what was going on since she answered the phone. Don’t worry Sunny screamed
back I have a plan (she was always full of good ideas).
Well, Sunny’s plan was a good
one. Though she wasn’t sure it was going to work. Her plan was to call the
owner of the orphanage fifteen minutes before Prunella gets back. The orphanage
owner would most likely come to see what is going on at the orphanage. The kids
would tell him what is going on and he would have to hide behind the fake tree
so Prunella wouldn’t see the owner (the owner was a she). Sunny and the kids
would still be having “Christmas” when Prunella walked in. Prunella would yell
at the kids and make them clean up the whole thing instead of realizing that
they haven’t had a Christmas yet. She would also not realize that she should
just let it go and let the kids continue on with their own little Christmas. Then
the owner would actually see what Prunella is doing to the kids and fire her.
So finally, the orphanage kids would have a nice teacher for a change. The
teacher would also compliment the maintenance man on his good work. As for the
plan, well it was just about to happen!
So Sunny called the owner and told her to be at the
orphanage in fifteen minutes. The owner agreed to be there by that time. While
they wre waiting for Alexia (that was the owner’s name) to come they just
talked about how Prunella would react. They were sure she would be
steaming. It only seemed like 5 min. until the orphanage’s doorbell rang. The
owner had come. Sunny explained what was going on. She didn’t disagree with
hiding behind the tree, though Alexia didn’t like the idea. The children
were having fun and hoping at the same time that Prunella would come so she
could get fired (the children know it sounds mean but you should meet her).
Then Prunella burst through the door talking to herself. The plan had
officially just begun.
Prunella
was actually steaming; you could almost see the steam coming out of her ears.
She practically screamed at the top of her lungs, what is the meaning of this.
Also following that she screamed you messy irresponsible kids, you will clean
this mess up right now now! Do you want to know why because I said so! The
owner had enough to prove that she really was mean. Well, well, well said the
owner said, “I don’t mean to be rude but you are fired, with a capital F!”
Prunella was shocked, but she didn’t protest or say anything. She just walked
out the door guiltily. The owner then ran to what used to be Prunella’s room and used
the telephone and dialed the number of a very good friend of hers named Amanda.
She asked Amanda if she would like to be the new teacher at the orphanage.
Amanda said yes and also, she had been looking for a job! She said it would be
the most perfect thing because she loved children! The orphanage kids were
happy. They found a teacher that wouldn’t boss them around and be mean to them.
Amanda was kind and did gave the maintenance man compliments about his good
work. That was definitely a reason to be happy.
With Amanda there everyone liked each other. Amanda was not
only good hearted, but had a great personality and sense of humor. She did
crazy, fun, and safe activities with the kids. She also had a huge
playpen for the little kids. Everyone was at least a little happy. Now, the kids in the
orphanage and also the staff are a family. It
seems like they were not in an orphanage, but they are still in one. Sunny was
even getting adopted. She was 10 now and she still is responsible, powerful,
and can still turn everything into fun. She
would miss everyone even the maintenance man because without him they would
still have mean and old Prunella. Sunny was a little melancholy, but glad she
was going to be adopted. She did not know that the kids in the orphanage were
throwing a party for her. The children had the small party before
Sunny had to leave with her new parents. The bigger kids were sad without Sunny
they would have been still dealing with Prunella and her meanness. The littler
kids didn’t do anything because they didn’t even know what was going on. Then Sunny’s new parents showed up.
Everyone got a chance to meet
them and say goodbye to Sunny. Well sunny thought I and the kids in the orphanage
accomplished 3 things in this past year. 1:All of us kids got rid of Prunella. 2;we finally had a Christmas.
3: We managed to get a new teacher
who loved kids. Even though I’m
getting a new home, I’ll still never forget the kids in the orphanage or Amanda
and the maintenance man. The one thing I’ll never forget is The Christmas
Miracle at the Orphanage!
Afterword:
Sunny’s new family the winters
were happy with a new adopted child and Sunny was happy with the winters. Paul
and 8-year-old Lisa were adopted from the orphanage. Paul’s new family was the
gullies and Lisa’s new family was the pixies. Both Lisa’s and
Paul’s families were very nice. Since Paul and Sunny lived close to the
orphanage they sometimes visited there. Lisa lived far away from the orphanage
so she couldn’t visit, but she wrote to them once in a while. More and more
kids were getting adopted from the orphanage, which was great. When Sunny heard
that the children were getting adopted she thought wow, another miracle!
The End!!!!!!!
